Conclusions addresses that the animal industries of any nation are a critical and valuable asset, providing sources of economic benefit and food for its people. Development and maintenance of animal industries requires considerable knowledge of the nature of those industries. Objective datais necessary to assess the current level of health, productivity and disease in such animal populations. A uniform, reliable and useable system to obtain data on those population provides a means of identifying their importance and value and to guide efforts to maintain the health and reduce disease in such populations. An infraestructure based upon people, paper and machines committed to collect reports, collate, analyse and use such information would directly facilitate development of animal industry and provide objective data for decision-making. Government and private individuals in each country must ambitiously embark upon this critical mission. (MIBA)Subject(s): SANIDAD ANIMAL | SISTEMAS DE INFORMACION | NAHDMS | CARICOM | CARIBE
