The Chairman of the Round Table initiates proceedings by explaining to the guests the objectives of the meeting and how organic farming fits in with Dominica's national goals economic development and diversification, while protecting the environment. He adds that the principle problem today, is in getting sufficient supply of organically grown produce to meet the rapidly growing demand around the world.
